Hello,

I am trying to learn how to do some simply CATIA NC operations...you can see my part at:

Now, I have created the part without any problems in PART DESIGN, and now I am trying to use Prismatic Machining to be able to generate some NC code. As you can see in my tree, I have been able to create the pocket with the 'Pocketing.1' operation, and the curved edges, I've created with 'Profile Contouring.1'. The four taps in the bottom, I was able to create with 'Drilling.1'.

My question is...how can I create an NC operation for the four semi-circular pockets I have created on the top side?

Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,

Max...

It looks like those pockets on top would need
to be "contoured" or surfaced with a ballmill.
I would go to the surface machining module and
use between contours or sweep machining. Either
of these should work great. If neither work then
you may want to use Isoparametric machining, you'll
only be able to pick one surface (face) at a time
though using this method.

Good luck
