Hi folks,

Page 69/133 of the NCEES PE SE Handbook is a deign aid table to the flexural design of concrete beams.
How do you read this table?

What is the top row? Side row?
For example if: Mu/(phi * b*d^2*fc) = 0.195, how do you use the table to obtain w? I can calculate it using the equations they provide, and that works out to be w=0.225, but have no idea how to find that using the table.

Thank you !

Left most column is the first two digits of w the top row of each column represents the third digit of w.

No idea how to use it, and not sure when it would even be useful. The R charts are much simpler to use.

Agreed with Celt

Mentors of mine introduced this chart to me but I don't see it used much these days.
