Has anyone read about the proposed new National Electrical Code article pertaining to "critical operations power system"? One recent article seems to indicate it is on the path to being adopted for the 2008 NEC. It is intended to apply to facilities for which a failure could impact public safety, e.g. command and dispatch centers, telecommunications, etc.
The draft text is available at the NFPA web site It seems to go way beyond the traditional scope of the NEC in terms of specifying installation, commissioning and maintenance requirements. Just wondering if anyone has seen this yet or has any thoughts.
