Hello,

I am trying to find out if a design of a residential battery operated AC power source (similar to a UPS) is by the NEC code or if not, how to get it to be code compliant.

The power source requires access to power coming from a renewable energy source - not Gridtie. The line has to run AC from the inside to the outside to a small unit that sits on the ground under some solar panels/turbines/etc. As a variation the line from inside to outside could be also carry DC.
What doe the NEC codes say about this power line and setup, pro & cons, any experience ?

Thank you
Markus

A good starting point would be to check out for a basic design.

Another is
Aee Solar Renewable Energy Design Guide and catalog have a lot of examples of off-grid as well as grid tie. This Guide is excellent.

Tis one is grid tie but it covers the nec codes that may also apply to off -grid
Google "off grid solar" for a lot of other examples.
