nedd help with the 7.5 inch head for a mazak hyper gear 4000 watt.

hey guys i have an issue with my head. yesterday i had a problem where the sensor wire came loose from the amplafire circut board.i had it solder back on today. now when the head goes to pierce, it throws an auto gap alarm and goes to re-try and it sounds like the gas has increase in air pressure and then the head goes up untill it z+ over travels. double checked o-rings as well. stuck,please help. I already had to work all weekend to catch up and this happens.

I don't know much about mazak. I would check the wire u just soldered. On Amada machines there are three layers on the sensor wire. All three need to be absolutely seperat from each other. If not, the tracking sensor just detects its self and not the material.

Thank you laserninja. i ended up taking the 5 inch head and rebuilding it to make a 7.5 inch head. it works but i still would like to find out what to do to fix the old 7.5 inch head. I called mazak to see if i could send it in to be repaired and they said they don't do that.I would have to have a tech come out and do it here at my shop. est. price is 5,000$. this laser has only been up for about a month and we can't afford that right now.

This may be frowned upon. I have no connection with them. Laser mechanism has rebuilt a lot of Amada cutting heads.
