Matt Lombards Bible is very good - I am just following the tutorials and exaples from the CD.

On page 290-291 there is a 3D Curve Driven Pattern (figure 8.15). The model is on the CD and I can not figure out how the "spiral" curve was created on the body. I presume the Surface-Sweep1 was somehow projected on the body giving the 3DSketch.

But how was that done ??

I am just guessing but it sounds like an “intersection curve”

I don't have the bible so am also just guessing, but he probably used Convert Entities on an edge of the Surface-Sweep1 in a 3D sketch.

Just a guess since I don't have the book to refer to.

If the body you are referring to is relatively a cyllinder, the curve could just be created as a helix starting at the base of the cyllinder. Diamter of the helix can be set to be equal to the cyllinder so that it lies on the outer surface.

Then use that helix to drive the 'Curve Driven Pattern'.
