Hi all,
I create a GRIP program to make a block, great. Now later I want to use the first two POS or GPOS to select geometry within the same quadrant automatically. Without having to select that range again. Would anyone have some direction? Like IDENT that would use the first two points.
Regards,
Jim

The only way is to capture the points and write the data to a text file, then use the text file as your location points for the second part.

If you do it all in one program execution, use variables in the program.

It will take some work to get what you want.

Ben, I think Jim wants to use the original 2 points to define a rectangular 'selection' boundary which would be used later in the program to automatically select (without any further user interaction) only those objects inside that region, some of which may not have actually yet existed when the points were originally picked. While one could create a sort of 'mapped region' and then cycle the database looking for objects which would fall INSIDE that 'region' it would be very tedious and not all the reliable, particularly if you were trying to reproduce the behavior that would have occurred is the user had done an interactive 'region select'.

Thanks You guys for responding. John, you are right on with your clarification, thank you. I use to program CALMA using DAL years ago. It was easy in that software.
