Need help Advice on designing FIXTURE for VIBRATION test.

Good morning everyone,

I have been tasked to design a fixture that will be mounting our display units to our vibration system. We want to simulate the vibrations that our units will go through when shipped.

I've never designed a fixture before. Does anyone have any kind of advice or articles I can be linked to to help me get started? Anything would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry, why are are you making it that short? Anything you test is likely to be attached by the periphery of this fixture, and it looks like it'll oilcan on its own without much shaking. I'd guess that if you actually ran a modal analysis, you find that your ribs are too squat by a about an inch or so. It takes less than 10 lb of force on something that thin to deflect it by a noticeable amount.

Again, there has to be a reason why your original fixture was so thick.

Just wanted to update everyone. Here's how my fixture turned out. Very rigid and strong. My friend gave us a good quote to just get the whole thing CNC.
