Need help calculating PPM (% Mol) in Gas samples

Hello all,

I am using an FTIR to attempt to calculate concentrations of impurities in air and oxygen. I have a standard that I know has 500.5 ppm (% mol) of CO₂ and am trying to use the spectrum that I obtained from this sample to back calculate and find this value. Does anyone have any experience doing something like this?

You also need to know the cell thickness to do that calculation. If you have that, then you can use Beer's law to estimate the concentration.
