Hi

First of all thanks to everyone here and i expecting your true help for selecting a course related to airlines related works. My brother qualifications is +2 in Biology mathematics group ( chemistry, physics, mathematics) and our parents gave me the responsibility to select a good course regarding aircraft engineering or any aerospace related courses and need some suggestion before selecting them. he is ready to write entrance exam also.

i give you our limitation for the course

  1. Course name : any aircraft or aerospace related course
  2. Course duration : 3-4 years
  3. Course Fee per annum: 1 Lakh per annum (INR)
  4. Institute location : preferably in india
  5. Salary expectation : 10 + Lakh per annum
he needs to work in airlines or any aircraft related jobs.
please give us a good suggestion of any good website or reference.

3000+ views and no replies ... that should tell you something.

1) we don't know much about India or the Engineering profession there.
2) ask someone closer to home
3) understand there is quite a difference between airlines and airplane manufacturing (and design).

Hi! First of all, it's great to see your dedication towards your brother’s future—he's lucky to have someone so supportive.

Given your brother's qualifications (+2 in Biology and Mathematics group) and your specific criteria, here are a few course options and suggestions that align with your goals:

Recommended Courses:

  1. B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering
    • Duration: 4 years
    • Focus: Aircraft design, aerodynamics, propulsion systems, etc.
    • Entrance Exams: JEE Main, state-level CETs, or college-specific exams.
  2. B.Sc in Aviation or Aircraft Maintenance Science
    • Duration: 3 years
    • Focus: Ground operations, aircraft systems, and maintenance.
  3. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)
    • Duration: 3–4 years (including practical training)
    • Regulated by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation)
    • This is not a degree, but a licensed course focused on certifying aircraft for flight.
    • Admission via AME CET (a common entrance test).

Institutes Within Your Budget (Around ₹1 Lakh/year):

Most top-tier aerospace colleges in India may exceed the budget, but some reasonably reputed institutes offer quality education with scholarships or low fee structures:
  • Indian Institute of Aeronautics, Patna
  • Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, Chennai
  • Punjab Aircraft Maintenance Engineering College, Patiala
  • Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering, Pune
  • Nehrul College of Aeronautics, Haryana

AME ... "This is not a degree, but a licensed course focused on certifying aircraft for flight." not as I understand it ... an AME license is required for someone doing maintenance on a plane. Companies making planes (or modifying them) usually use an AME license as a "ticket through the door" (like Engineers are expected to have a degree).
