Hello engineers, I'm a carpenter in Saskatchewan Canada, I have and idea for a product that I believe will take off . I know what I need and just don't know where to begin. Looking for a little advice and guidance on how to design a specialty clip that holds my product together. For more exact details I would ask you to sign a confidentiality agreement before I tell you about the product and idea as a whole. Willing to help anyway I can!

For starters, make a few prototypes out of wood.

When you've got those pretty good, try a few in a bulk plastic like nylon, which you can work with (sharp) woodworking tools.

If you want any useful help from people on a forum, you'll have to give up the silly idea of a confidentiality agreement (i.e., NDA). Unless you intend to pay for that advice... but I have a feeling you'll find your clip idea is unlikely to be original.
