Need help opening v4 model files in v5

Ive tried over and over again to download .model files using my autoweb ccx mailbox and open them in v5 and i was wondering if there is a special way to do so, as far as changing something in the settings or just something special in the opening process if any one has any information on hoe to do so please let me know.

Hi, there is an utility to make the conversion from .model to V5 format. Look at the CATIA products FAQ on Eng-Tips. Bye

There are several ways to read .model into V5.
you can add the .model file to a CATProduct by using insert existing component.
Or V5 will read a V4 model directly into the V4 workbench this does not convert part but you can drag and drop the MASTER into a catpart and us the B-rep entities.

Tim: I reviewed the first two ans...........It may also be that the functions used to create the solids in the model you are trying to move from V4 are not the same that exist in V5 and may result in a solid that can't be modified in V5..........AIRPLANEANDY@YAHOO.COM
