I want to pulse a DC Voltage signal. My idea is to install a solid state switch in the power circuit that will automatically cycle off/on at speeds up to 1.5 MHz or sowith a continuous duty cycle.

Are there switches like this available off the shelf? If the frequency/duty cycle is a limitation, what is available?

Yes there are switches that will do that and are included in carefully designed systems that support it. No, you can't buy one somewhere, hook it up, and be happily switching at 1.5MHz....

You need to more fully describe your application. Voltage, current, supply, load, application.

Can you give me a few sources for these that I may begin by looking at what is available?

12VDC, current range from 50mA to 20A. I want to be able to "tune in" a desired frequency of switching.

You should be able to find power FETs that can be paralleled and are fast enough for your requirements. Bipolars would work as well, but with more drive current and series current-sharing resistors that aren't necessary with FETs.

The drive circuit would depend on your load current waveform requirements.

I haven't seen any commercial active load that will switch this fast, but I haven't been looking either.
