Hi All,

I have around 1000 of part list that exits in Windchill. Now I want to check the "state" of each parts in Windchill.
Is there any option to check the "state" of all parts in simple way compared to normal search option?

State-> "In work, under Review, approved, Released". I'm using Creo as CAD software

Thanks!

Thank you Dave! for showing new option to show the details in the drawing.

Now, My intention is to extract the details of state from Windchill. ( I have the some 1000 part file list to check manually/ identify the "state")
Hope I am clear now.

If you had admin access to create an SQL procedure you could do this, but if you are asking how, then I expect you should not be messing with the database that way.

You can either check them one at a time or create a workspace and check them out into it and check them there.

Thanks Dave, Now I will follow your suggestion, may be in future will try with SQL procedure.

The simplest option is as Dave said - add to workspace. You can then create a custom view with the file name, description & release state, and you can set a filter. In this case it would be
Document CAD Document
Criteria State

You can set to to show specific states, or to exclude a state - eg all In Work, or all except Released, etc.

The custom view can be created in any Windchill object - Library, Product, Workspace or Project. It can be created at Admin level, or User level - if created at Admin level, it will be available for every user.

The disadvantage to using it at any level other than Workspace, is that it only shows what is in the current directory - which is an advantage in some cases.

Thanks Robert for adding more clarity.

Do we have any macros/mapkey function in Windchill similar to Creo?

If there is any way to create macros or equivalent, they will be Admin rights only.

I have discovered that you can create custom views for searching, as well as any other table in Windchill (such as the Updates table on you home page) so that could be another option.

Yes - macros in Windchill are done by writing SQL programs which require administrator access.

I agree Robert, as a user "customize" views setting is helping a lot.

Thanks Dave! May be in upcoming days, will try to learn SQL.

You can also modify the structure view of an assembly to show custom columns. I have a view that shows state, folder and lifecycle template. I have another view that shows some internal parameters.
Very easy if your parts are used in an assembly to use the structure tab and display related information.
