need to know if you can make a gas turbine engine able to use submerged in water if you hook it up to an electrical power source and still be able to use it as a gas turbine

For the kind of money that someone like the CIA could supply, yeah, I could probably do it. For you, no. ;-)

Issues that would arise include but are not limited to:
- Sealing the electrics. Immersion in water to depth is different from flying through clouds.
- Sealing the lube system and bearings.
- Dealing with, mitigating, or preventing thermal shock damage, especially to the ceramic parts.

Even if all that could be done, most gas turbines would be crappy water propulsors, because they're intended to compress and expand gaseous media. The high pressure stages and combustors would not pass water freely.

A turbofan could work okay underwater, because of the semi- exposed fan. The engine core could be sealed, and the fan driven with an electric motor.

If you're thinking that such a rig would be capable of high speed underwater, forget it. Google 'shkval'.

what if the carbon fiber was heat treated graphitized do you beleive that should be able to work in any situation and the depths that i will be going will not be that deep only about 75 -100 ft at most
 
Er, _what_ carbon fiber?

Did you confuse this conversation with a different one, or did some computer do it?

I may misunderstand the question, but I have wondered about using a gas turbine in place of a diesel engine. The gas turbine would turn a generator, which would run an electric motor and charge batteries. With gas turbines offering higher efficiency than diesel and smooth operation, this seems reasonable. What am I missing?
 
The most efficient diesel engine is significantly more efficient than the most efficient gas turbine.

Of course, a combination of the two is far more efficient.
