I have an application where I need to add anchors bolts to an existing precast concrete wall panel (two inch thick concrete double tee flanges). The purpose of the anchor bolts is to add wind suction resistance for the all panels and connect back to exisiting concrete beam girts.

What I was hoping to find was a product that could be installed from one side only. The exterior face is extremly difficult to get to in order to add a plate and nut. Some type of "toggle" bolt os similar that can be installed from one side and then expands on the exterior side to provide bearng area for the anchor woulde be ideal. Hilti and Simpson make small "Drop in" anchors" that provide some tension resistnace, but I was looking for something that could penterate through the 2 inch concrte and then "expand" on the back side.

Try and look for heavy duty anchors for use with hollow block which is a similar situation.

As csd72 noted, an epoxy anchor with a screen tube would probably work in this application. The epoxy creates a bulb on the back side.

Use a high viscosity epoxy for horizontal applications. Do pull-out testing to verify capacity.

You may also want to try a screw anchor in this situation. I used to work for one of those Anchor companies and have done a lot of testing in hollow block and hollow plank. There are too many variations for a manufacturer to test every situation. Consider the Hilti HUS-H anchor or the Powers "Wedge Bolt". I've tested these in 3ksi concrete 2" thick and got 3 kips in tension with no signs of cracking. I started recommending the screw anchor a lot more in hollow core applications. Screw anchors are a lot easier to install as well. If you go with the adhesive with a screen tube make sure it's not too long. It only need to go past the inside face by about 1". Also for smaller diameters use the Hilti HIT A rod. Hilti squares off the end it makes a big difference in capacity.
