Hi all,

I finally got my new PC and new SW installation.

Here's the spec:

i7 950 64 bit chip
12Gb RAM
Quadro FX5500 card
New install of Solidworks from 32 to 64 bit.

Just got a few problems, hopefully someone can give me some advice.

I have a assembly that I've been working on (approx 1250 parts), but when I opened the assembly for the first time on the new PC, it came up will loads of errors and warnings for missing parts and mates. The thing is that the assembly was prefectly fine before this new PC and new install of SW64.
I thought because all the parts, assemblies, drawings are saved on a server and not saved on my PC, that the assembly would be fine.

Has anyone got any idea why this has happened.

Hi all,

It's Fixed!

I renamed the server back to the original name, but the assembly was still showing errors. So I downloaded SP4 (64bit) and bingo the assembly is fixed.

Thanks to all who helped.

PS: My new PC is superfast, SW is runnning brilliantly, in fact I now can't keep up. :)

In SW options under "File Locations", navigate the drop down to "Referenced Documents".

Add the directory/directories as they stand on the "new" server name. Open the assembly and everything should resolve correctly. Make sure to save so it updates the references.
