Hi all,

I've been using CATIA V5R19 on my current computer for just over a year now, and have upgraded my display from a 24" HP monitor to an LG HDTV. Since then I've been having some very strange graphics errors with CATIA, such as: when I first load a part the visualisation screen is sometimes completely black, until I zoom, drag or rotate the part; when I try and expand a partbody in the tree the expanded menu disappears once I move the mouse, but if I hover the mouse over the items (sketch / operation etc) they will briefly flash up; finally when I try to select anything the usual orange highlighted outline doesn't appear unless I hold the mouse button down, as soon as I release the button the outline disappears even though the item is actually selected.

I've been using an NVidia GeForce GTX260 the whole time with both the new and old monitors, and have tried using both DVI and HDMI connections with the same results. Is it something I can sort out in the CATIA / graphics card options, or is it an incompatability between card and monitor? Any suggestions appreciated.

UPDATE:

In case anyone was interested, or has similar problems in the future, I have managed to solve this problem. I remembered I had altered the 3D settings on my graphics card when I set up the new monitor, when I reset this back to the factory settings (which is: let application decide 3D performance) all was fixed. :)

Your card is an unsupported card and may experience some graphical problems. I have seen graphical issues when I install a driver that is not supported by that version of Catia on my supported card. Catia can at times be a bit sensitive.

Derek

Thanks for the reply Derek.

I think I must be one of the lucky ones as this is the first problem I've had graphics-wise, it's been flawless on this machine for the 1.5 years I've had it. The only problem I seem to get is the occasional runtime exception (click ok to terminate) which occasionally happens, but I soon learnt to reduce my auto-save time!

It would not be Catia if you did not get the Click Ok to Terminate.
