Good morning everyone ,

I need your urgent consultancy please !

We are in the line of installing and commissioning a new 5.7 M.W power plant.
The unit arrived on-site but the CRITICAL ISSUE is the generator duty type !!!
It is supposed to be continues but the nameplate says it is Standby !!!

We immediately contacted the supplier , they said they double checked with the Generator manufacturer and they are sorry and it`s just a nameplate print mistake and they will send another nameplate where it will state Continues rather than standby ...

The question is ...
Is this mistake possible to happen with a major unit and project like this ?
What is the best approach to follow in such a situation ?

Please advise ,

Kind regards.

The prime mover is a gas turbine and the generator output capacity is 5.7 MW.
It`s supposed to be continuous but the nameplate says it`s standby !

I would be checking and cross checking any information on their websites as to the various sizes of sets available.
Check physical dimensions if available.
5.18 MW Prime = 5.7 MW Standby.
5.7 MW Prime = 6.27 Standby
The difference may not be apparent for many years.
If the unit is in fact a standby set, and it is typically loaded to near capacity, you may lose a few years from the end of life.
If it is a standby set, and is relabeled as a prime set, your stated reactances may be about 10% off.
