I've been using COMPRESS Build 6251. Due to the low workload and not expecting any project using this software my company decided not to renew our license. For the purpose of internal education in case getting a project later on we review the operation of the software but most of the files I made display an internal error. In this regard, I think there is a need to re-install Build 6251 but cannot find any link in the COMPRESS homepage.

Please help!!!

niwed, You can continue to use your existing version of COMPRESS even if you have not renewed your Support and Update Services (SUS) subscription. There is no reason why COMPRESS would harm your vessel files in this case. Some files may have been damaged through a hard drive error or similar problem.

Try creating a new file in COMPRESS. Are you able to reopen it without error? If not, then I suggest reinstalling COMPRESS.

Send me 1 or 2 of your files that you cannot open and I will test them at Codeware. Use the address support @ codeware.com.

there is no problem while opening the file. It is when you press the F3 icon (calculate) the problem appeared.

I re-installed COMPRESS, this time the file would not open because the file was done with Build 6251. We have only in our back-up file of Build 6250.

1) Files saved in any build of COMPRESS cannot be opened in earlier builds of COMPRESS.

2) Try the following to correct the "F3" problem:

a) Select Action menu, select Set Mode Options command. Select the "Environment" tab on dialog. "Check" the option to "Disable vessel snapshot", click "OK". Try running calculations again.

b) Or, select the Windows Control Panel. Select the Display icon. Select Advanced Options. Reduce the "hardware acceleration" for the video card.

I cannot try your solution on how to correct the "F3" problem since as you said "COMPRESS cannot be opened in earlier builds of COMPRESS".

In order for me to run those files, I need a copy of Build 6251. When we updated the COMPRESS software were not able to save a back-up copy of that upgrade.

We are not anymore entitled to receive support for Build 6252, however in one message it says that "Versions of COMPRESS older than November 18, 2006 will continue to function as before."

I suggest you contact your COMPRESS dealer in Korea (Kimyoung Engineering) for further assistance.
