New to solid edge Help on a very basic how to. 1

I am trying to draw a simple sheet metal part and just can't seem to get it. The part is .024 thick, stainless. It is simply a horizontal line with a half circle, open side up,on the end or right side. The radius of the half circle is .1 and the part will be .625 wide. When I try to finish the profile I get the msgs, "all line to arc relationships must be tangent in the contour flange profile", or "more than one profile has been detected". I am using solid edge version 11. any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the first error message, it sounds like you are using the "Contour Flange" command? Perhaps the "Tab" Command would be better suited to this (if I am understanding the shape you describe). The contour flange command (when used as the base feature) is used to create an extruded shape based on the edge contour (material thickness) of the part. an "L" or "Z" bracket are typical examples of shapes that the Contour flange command is intended.
The Tab command creates a flat sheet from which you would then use the "flange" or "contour flange" commands to add flanges to the tab edges.
The Second error message appears when you have an element that is not connected to the rest of the profile, If you are zoomed to the extents when you press "finish" the offending element(s) should be highlighted when the error dialog appears.
 
OK, After I hit the submit button for my first reply I realized that I probably misunderstood the shape you describe! so I'll give it another go!
Try adding a fillet to the point where the line and the half circle meet, this would achieve the tangental relationship that it is asking for. I believe in this situation you must manually add the bend radius between a line and an arc.

Hopefully one of these two will be of help!
 
The second option of Edgomatic is correct, the contour should be a continuous line, with tangent connection between sections of the line if one of the two connected sections isn't a straight line, or is shorter than the bendingradius. Think about the bending process when drawing the contour you try to describe. How would you make it on a bending-bench (what's the word for that?).

Thanks to the both of you for the help. The fillet command did allow me to complete the part. I’m not so sure however that it is correct. The curve or spoon or whatever you want to call it at the end still doesn't seem to be just right, and I think its because I'm using a fillet instead of a radius. I know that makes no sense, the curve is more of a complete half circle, rather that a fillet. Dang, I know what I'm trying to draw and I'm confusing myself. I have already drawn this part in AutoCAD 2000I. Would either of you be interested in seeing it? I could fax or e-mail or even post it some where at your preference.
 
Our maintenance is over. It ran out about a year ago. Thats ok, np, thanks for the help anyway!
