HELP...

I am having this issue lately, which just started a week ago.
Few of the assemblies when I try to make a change and save it. It prompts me under Cannot create a file when that file already exists. upon exiting I witness that filename has a new version with .newVer added at the end.

I am using INV routed system 2009, 32 Bit Edition 2GB on Build 298, release:2009 SP2.

I get this when our IT replicates the server. It's very annoying. Perhaps ask IT if they are fussing with the server your files are stored on when this next occurs? Not sure what else could cause it though, sorry.

Does the .newver there while the assembly is being saved? Is there an error during the save and file fails to save then the files are created with .newver?

If it is created during a save wait and it will go away after the file is completely saved.

If it actually creates the file (and that sounds like what is going on) it represents files of the assembly that were created during an unsuccessful save. Some files saved some didnt. I have never had any luck using these files. they can be converted to the current version but i always had issues with them blowing up assemblies (of course this was several versions back). at this point i just delete .newversions when they are created.

NOTE: this advice is based on personal experience and no real knowledge of .newver files.

automationbabe,

We did switch over a bigger (""better"")server. Inventor worked fine for quite few weeks but just recently it started all this gibberish.

mauzyb,

It actually creates the file with /newVer extention and it doesn't go away. I guess I will call the technical support.

thanks though.
