What is the definition of a concealed space over an isolated small room. I have an attic with 2 hour wrap backs less than 55 square feet. Would it be possible to elminate sprinklers in these areas even though the attic is over a 6 plex apartment complex.

Thanks in advance

if the room itself is under 55 sq feet. Do not understand you r question are you saying you have areas in the attic that are broken into areas less than 55 sq feet??????

Also you do not say if you are doing a full 13 system or 13R. Check you may meet some of the other exceptions to concealed spaces.

Basically I have small areas ( less than 55 sq. ft.) in some areas around 2 hour seperation walls. Just little pockets that have been formed. It is a full 13 system.

so you should be sprinkling the attic with a full system and any concealed spaces that do not meet any of the exceptions. So look at the exceptions and sprinkle if you do not or make is so that you do meet the exception, such as stuffing insulation in the void, or making the area six inches or less, etc.

you do not indicate how you are involved in this general contrac, sprinkler contrac, etc????????????
