A building has structural members, W's and bar joists, that run with the slope of the roof on pitches between 2 in 12 to 6 in 12.

I need a swivel type (if it is made) beam clamp assembly so the rod can hang straight down. Bending of any rod not allowed.

Does anyone make such an attachment?

Have you tried Lindapter. Do a google search. It may be Lindapter.com. They offer a swivel type hanger that is good for around 20°, it may even be up to 45° by now. I know it will actually swivel that far, but I am not sure of the listing.

NFPA allows for bending of machine threaded rod if that would become a possibility. I realize you aren't to bend ATR.

I think that Sammy also makes a swivel type hanger. I am not sure if it would be applicable on your project.

Good luck!

Thanks Travis,

I am thinking of using a flat faced beam clamp with 3/8"x2" machine bold with angle clip and from side of angle clip using eye rod and short 3/8"x1" machine bolt, washer and nut to obtain swivel.

SD2:

That should work, but if it goes outside of the "standard" hangers as shown in NFPA 13, you may need to have a structural PE sign off on the hangers.

Interesting product but don't see a UL or FM stamp.
