NFPA 70 circuit protection 1

Dear All,
My contractor has installed Fire Alarm Pull stations using cables without mechanical protection so the circuits are susecptible to be damaged during maintenances, tool transportation, etc.
I would like tomask if this is acceptable in outdoor circuits.

NFPA 70 does not apply to mechanical devices such as this. A common theme throughout NFPA is protection from mechanical damage, so I would say that it is not a recommended practice and should avoided whenever practical.

Have to look at the books NFPA 72 and NEC

I want to say anything up to seven feet has to be protected.

Not sure about any extra if wiring is used in exterior areas, will have to look

the seven foot rule and protecting the wire is in NEC 760.53 and NFPA 70 760.130(B)(2) 2014 edition
