HI,
I have the folowing strange message often when I save my model. "No write access". But it does save the file anyway. Even when I change the name with "save as" it says the same. Is this an error in NX8.5? I have this problem since I work with NX8.5.

Michel

I use NX7.5.4.4
HP Z600 Intel Xeon E5520 2.27GHz Dual

First time I've heard of this.

That being said, go to...

File -> Options -> Save Options...

...and check to see if perhaps you have toggled ON the 'Save Drawing CGM Data' option. If so, make sure that the destination folder as defined at...

Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> CGM Export -> General

...is someplace that you have 'write' access to. The Message that you're getting may be related to failing to file the CGM's and NOT the actual Part file.

Are you trying to save to the installation folder ?

NX 6.0.5.3 (NX 8.5 Testing)

The only thing you have to do is Run "NX" as Administrator! Then you can save anything, anywhere! :)

I do save the CGM data. I've changed the location but no luck.
No I just save somewhere else on the disk.

I just found out that if I open a sub assembly which is read only I get the message. Even without changing anything.

Take a look at the log file ... Help-NX Log File ... it may give a clue

You may want to check to see what options are set at...

Customer Defaults -> Assemblies -> General -> Miscellaneous

...as there are three options in the middle of the page which controls if and when messages are displayed when there are 'Read Only' parts open in your NX session.

Thanks John. I've changed a setting there and now it is solved.
