Can a pressure vessel build to ASME section VIII Div 1(Not to be code stamp) used a flange made from non ASME standard like PN16, JIS B2220 etc. i just join a new company and they use this kind of flange for PV fabrication.

Another thing is the application of flat face and raised face flanges in piping connection. What are the criteria in choosing flange face type.

Thank You

You could include any flange in an ASME designed vessel. Just do the appropriate ASME VIII Div 1 Appendix 2 flange design calculations to validate the materials and dimensions that you want to use.

THe problem with e.g. EN 1092-1 might be their materials. As theyre made to European standards, you might find such flanges do not have ASTM materials on their MTR.
That will be another problem youll have to look into.

In general, the flat face flange is to be used in low pressure applications and the raised face one in high pressure applications...

Using the provisions of UG-11(d), such flanges can be used for the pressure temperature limits. Material to which these flanges are made must be from ASME accepted materials.
