I am looking for any spec that points out any non conformance of threads, we do a lot of Aero Space work and the threads are a big issue. We want to see what is considered non conformance of a thread, like nicks, scratches and finishes.

I assume you have ASME B1.1 and 1.13M? Not sure how much detail they'd give on what you're talking about though.

Thank you for your reply, I can't find anything on finishes of threads. Our customer wants perfect threads so I was looking to see if there was some kind of spec on the finishes of threads.

What spec do they reference if any? If they aren't clearly specifying what they want then legally it may be debatable if they can reject it - though I appreciate for the sake of customer satisfaction and future business that may not be your first response.

Perfect threads is a non starter, if you can look closely enough you'll find some kind of imperfection.
