I am a (very) recent convert to SW from long use of Mechanical Desktop and can not figure out how to do the following

The part is a 3"OD x .25 wall x 12" long tube.
The tube has a horizontal and vertical plane along the axis
I want to put a threaded hole in the tube, perpendicular to the long axis of the tube and parallel to the horizontal plane, offset about 1/2" above the horizontal plane.

The hole wizard seems to understand threaded holes normal to the surface of the tube. I have not been able to make it do holes that are non perpendicular to the surface of the tube.

What am I missing?

You may have to create a plane on the surface at whatever angle you want the hole axis to be. Apply your hole wizard hole to that plane.
As a last resort you can always not use hole wizard and just cut a hole in the tube at the non-perpendicular angle.

I ended up using an offset plane, I was just hoping there was an easier way

Thanks

What could be easier than making an offset plane?

FYI - True Helical Threads will cause Performance loss. It's better to fake it rather than make them.

I have a downloadable bolt at my site on threads. Check out the different Configurations.
