Normalizing Temperature for SA105N 1

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know the normalizing temperature range for SA 105N? if yes, then could please refer the code which includes this range?

 

Codes will generally not tell you this kind of information in specific terms.
The CMTR will tell you what was done.
1650°F is typical for constructional carbon steels.

The Normalizing temperature shown on the CMTR is 890 C with 0.21% Carbon content. Is that acceptable ?

That would be within an acceptable range.

could you please let me know hoe did you know it's within an acceptable range. Is there any reference code or chart showing its acceptable range?

It's a little on the low side with 1650 F and a bit higher being more typical per the ASM Metals Handbook. But if one looked at 1650 +/- 25F typical for furnace controls, it would be within the normal range.
