I reviewed Scope of NORSOK M650 which does not calls out NORSOK certification for austenitic stainless steel. However our customer is insisting us to have F316 Forging from NORSOK approved supplier.
Customer spec is generic for A182 which states that norsok certificate (if applicable), I interpreted it as requirement only for High alloy steel(which is covered under scope of M650) and not for F316 but customer is interpreting it as requirement for F316 also

My procurement person is chasing globally for this but so far no success, Can any body provide F316 grade NORSOK approved supplier.

The last paragraph of the Scope states that it can be applied to any CRA material desired by the specifier. Have you clarified exactly what the customer requires in 'NORSOK certification' and what would be an acceptable Qualifying Company (assuming that you can find a supplier who has an appropriate QTR)? Note that it's not NORSOK who provides the approval, it's the Qualifying Company

Unfortunately, the customer has had a nice idea but is trying to execute it under the wrong circumstances - a sub-supply on a purchase order where it's a bit too late.

Good luck with your search, or more likely, deviation request.
