North American Energy Services (NAES)

Hello all,
I am an engineer with a peaking turbine station that has been aquired by another energy company. Although the company bought the plant, our services will now be required by NAES. I have never heard nor have I had any dealings with NAES. Does anyone out there have any useful feedback on NAES? Thank you in advance for your help.

They were originally formed to staff the nuclear groups for some Northwest utilites. The utilites were going to build the Skagit and Boardman nuclear plants ( maby one of the WPPS jos as well). If the Utilites had hired the people required to engineer a nuke plant it would have upset their existing internal pay scales and probably casued some other leagle problems.

Thanks for the info. I had previously looked over the website. Nice site, but, I was really wanting to know how they are to work for as a company. We, (our station) has not heard anything about benefits, health plans or even operating tempo from NAES. How are they with staffing issues? Do they bring in their own management? What kind of maintenance recording system do they use? CMMS? SAP? There are lots of speculation, I was hoping to find some inside information about them here. Thanks again for your earlier response.

They were headquartered in Washington state and had good people and paid them good. They had engineers, cost engineers, superintendants etc. They were experienced and did a good job. They have since moved to Texas which I assume is a way to cut cost. I don't know what else they have cut. I use to work with a woman there who was a recruiter ( or what ever they call her.) She was experienced and knew the industry well. They laid her off and about 3 others of the same caliber. Next thing you knew you were talking to some kid who was selling hamburgers last week.
I don't know anything about their bennies. most of the people I know who worked for them quit.
It your experienced on a particular system or piece of equipment make sure you have good luggage. If they have a contract on a similar unit you may get the call to go.
