Not a disaster yet - Glass bridge in China cracks

The official government excuse, pardon me - explanation, for the cracks: Some one dropped a thermos on the bridge. I would've guess a soprano hit a high note.

I suppose people hopping over the cracked portion will in turn crack adjacent portions.

Looks like they are issued special lttle blue anti-gravity shoes by the Polit Bureau to walk above the bridge with. Doesn't sound like they are working...

Now that cracks me up! The problem is clear to me.

Assuming they built them like the glass floors in various skyscrapers around the US it's probably got a protective outer layer of glass to walk on with an actual structural glass inside. If I recall a US building had a similar issue earlier this year.

I was just about to post a similar thread, and then I noticed,this thread. Is the cracking of the glass representative of "Made in China" product . I think the CCTV tower in Beijing has glass floor connecting the 2 towers.

From what I read earlier, it sounded like the cracking was the outer layer of glass only, similar to a US windshield getting a crack or pit from a rock. Obviously a concern, but not a failure, either. If they didn't think to make those panels pretty easy to replace, that would be a problem.
