Hi

Bit of a strange one this maybe.

I have recently had unigraphics put on my machine, version NX 7.5.3.3 with MP1 patch.

When i add notes to a drawing in the formatting box i have to hold the enter key down for a couple of seconds before the cursor moves down a line. Ultimately, it scrolls down 3 or 4 lines and i have to move the cursor back up.

On my colleagues machines, they can just enter return and the cursor moves down a line, with a single keypress.

Any ideas as to why i have to hold the key down? Has anyone else come across this ?

Thanks for any thoughts/replies

first things that come to mind:
Your computer is outdated
or
Your return key is broken

Is there a difference between your installation and theirs?

Hi

The computer is new and we are all running the same release/patch of NX.

The keyboard is not faulty as it works ok in other applications, plus it is a separate keyboard as i use a laptop. The return key on the laptop acts the same way though..

Is there a setting or something in NX that effects keystrokes/keyboards etc?

Thanks

Is the return key the only key that shows this problem? Can you type fluently in the box or does it take a while for the letters to show up after you type them?

I can type fluently, there is no delay in keypress and display characters. All others buttons (a-z, 1-0 etc) work ok with one keypress, only seems to be enter/return. This is both on the return key, enter key (on numerical keypad) and on on laptop as well....

Baffling !

Hold on....

Ive just found something ..if i hold down shift or ctrl key and press enter then the enter/return key works fine and will drop a line with only one press...

I wonder if there are any settings that tell shift/ctrl to be locked/act as if held on, which i conunteract by holding it down ???

Is it font dependent?

Does it only happen in the drafting application or also in modeling?

Do your colleagues also have the laptop/external keyboard configuration?

Best regards,

Michaël.

NX7.5.4.4 + TC Unified 8.3
Win 7 64 bit

From what i can see it is not font dependent, it happens with all different font types.

I'm not sure how to add a note in the modelling environment to check if it happens in both, but it def. happends in drafting!

All my colleagues have the same setup laptop/keyboard etc.

Good thoughts though......
