Hello everyone,
I have a vessel NPS 26 with a nozzle NPS 18 where there are nozzle loads in the design combination with:
- dead loads + seismic loads.
The code is ASME VIII DIV.1 and with WRC 537 I checked dead loads and seismic loads as they would be separated load cases and then I used a Fea analysis to combine these loads in one load case.
The seismic load can be considered as occasional load, but Can I consider dead load as they would be thermal loads?
Or I need to consider these loads in the operating condition?
For information the equipment works at 700°F with internal pressure of 100 psig.

The dead loads are absolutely NOT thermal loads. They are dead loads. If you are fabricating to the 2019 Edition of VIII-1, then you musty follow the requirements of Appendix 46, which directs you to follow the loaf combination rules in VIII-2, Part 5, Table 5.3. All of the guidance that you need are in there.
