Dear All,
i am new at this forum and new in Design field.
I would like to know when Nozzle required Reinforcement.
i think this is very basic Que.
but i would appreciated if anybody reply appropriate.
Thanks
Welcome to fabulous world of pressure vessel engineering.
Reinforcement is not for nozzle it is for the cut out made in shell/head. To put it very few words we can safely say that it is replacement of area lost due to cut out made in shell/head.
It is possible to simplify the reinforcement calc's: make the repad from the same material & thickness as the shell. Then calc the area of the hole inside your nozzle. Then calc a 'donut' torroid of the same [or slightly more] area. You have now fully reinforced the penetration, by "replacing the hole".
