Is there a significant difference between the two?
Both are used for line loadings.
I think, it has effects in transfer of forces.
Please correct me If I'm wrong..Null lines transfer more moment than axial forces WHILE dummy lines transfer more axial forces than moment.
The question is why is that?
However, Using null lines on top of a shear wall (Say, applying a line load for a CHB), Is it good If my model of null lines will not occupy the whole length of the shear wall(Partial, say length of shear wall is 5m, but CHB length is 3m that is why I model null line 3m in length)? Or In a case of floor slab, just a partial model of null line just to input loading? I am curious if this might be the reason of warnings in log. Is there any effects on the results?
