The machine is as good as the purchase specifications used to order it...this applies to engineering, maintenance / service agreement, etc. I am tented to say that if you order crap, well you get crap. Actually with one exception..in fact the good thing with the big vendors (and yes the one of the subject topic is definitely one of them) is that they are a good safeguard when people (users, buyers, contractors) don't know what they are doing...BUT to a certain extent. EPC contractor's managed by arrogant/ideological/political/egocentric project managers (there are large variations) are incompetent at training and investing in their people and resources to build thorough understanding of machinery and get their team up to the level required to deal with complex machinery topics. The task is already difficult when you are surrounded with competent engineers. Let alone the challenge when for example, piping, instrumentation or process (and process controls) disciplines do not have a single clue of what is going on. At the end, contractors usually rely on one or two technical guru's who are still around and have the competence AND the work ethics to do the needful and prevent things from collapsing (for God's sake). Said firms, at end would lean on the big OEM players to safeguard themselves. This is the only exception I know of.

Can i say that pignone is a good machine.
They usually have one or two guru to make things work.
They are able to guide arrogant EPC contractors to deliver the system.
