NX 12: Tabular Note - How to disable "Edit with Spreadsheet"

We use simple Tabular Notes for revision blocks for our tooling, they don't need to be linked to any external spreadsheet, they are for reference only.

Everyone except my boss can edit the cells directly in NX, but my boss is forced to use Excel to edit the contents. The Excel window takes a minute or more to open and a minute or more to close and update when he's done.

How can I change this so he can edit the note cells directly?

If the Tabular note has been edited with Excel once, it will continue to do so the next time you double click.

If you rightclick on the + (Upper left corner of Tabular Note) you can select "Edit Without Spreadsheet".
