NX 2212 Library Reference Number/ Catalog Number

Hopefully someone can help me out here.

When I create a new tool, I give that tool a unique name in the Library reference along with a unique number in the Catalog Number and export that tool to the tool library. Then when I start a new file and import that new tool from the tool library, the Catalog Number and Library Reference number are now the same. The Catalog Number matches the Library Reference now. Why is that, and how can I fix it so the Catalog Number and Library Reference number are different? I looked in the tool_database DAT File and their is no Catalog Number in the DAT File.

Try to use Description field for yours purposes.

This is what I don't understand with NX. They have a field for the catalog number, but in all reality, it's pointless. Why have it then?

It seems to me that the idea is that the library stores" templates " of tools, and in the project you use the one that is available and adjust the tool parameters.
