Hi,

I am having a weird issue on my machine which I am not sure is normal. I spent a lot of time setting up my toolbar layout, and after noticed that I do not have full menus, or even the drop down to pick from full menus (like I was under some very limited role).

I switched my role from what it was (not sure what it was) to advanced designer and the full menus work. However, now all my tool bars are gone. I have tried going to customize --> always show full menus, but this is not the case and will not work. I do not even have the ability to see the expanded menu options under full edit and view.

My question is there any way to enable these menus? Or am I stuck into having to switch to advanced designer then setup the new layout and save it again?

Thanks,
Mike

After you make any Customization edits to menus and/or toolbars, unless you create/save a Role, they will not be permanently saved.

John,

That is not the issue. If I go to view --> operation, I only see the first set of menus ( refresh, fit..etc) , the rest will not show up (even after enabling full menus). There is no arrow or anything, advanced commands are unable to be picked at this role.

On another role (advanced designer), I am able to see all the menus. However, switching to this role resets the tool bars. I must have setup my layout and tool bars under a role which has very limited capabilities?

Is there a command to turn the full tool bars on (only for file, edit and view) without going back into advanced designer and setting up all the tool bars then saving that role?

Thanks
Mike

No, that's the way Roles work. Just start out with the 'best' defualt Role, make your changes/additions and then save a new personal Role. Once saved you can always go back to where you were by selecting this Role anytime you wish.
