I'm having an issue re-associating leaders on my drawing. After I update or change the part, leaders obviously become disassociated, turning red and dashed. However, when I Edit the leader, making sure Id 1 is selected in the list, I pick my new object to re-associate the leader, and it stays red and dashed (disassociated) without giving me any error or information alert. Any thoughts?

Hi Tomcatcool17,
It is possible the origin of the object was linked to something that does not exist anymore or has also become unassociative. After you re-associate the object try double clicking on it and from the menu select the Origin Tool icon next to Secify Location. Select OK then close the menu and see if this fixes it. This removes the previous Origin link.

Thanks for the info. That worked perfectly. Any thoughts as to why some disassociate themselves like that, but others are just fine doing it the Edit way?

Hi tomcatcool17,
No problem glad to help. The origin of the object was more than likely linked to something near it when you were placing it on the drawing sheet. The ones you say are OK would not have a position link to anything else so they update without having to do anything to the position/origin when you reassociate them.

As an example if you are placing a symbol and you attach the leader then drag the symbol over a dimension or another symbol you will see a circle appear. This means it will link the position/origin of the object you are creating to whatever it is you have dragged it over. If this becomes unassociative you have to update the leader position and also update or remove the origin link.
