NX 7.5 STEP Export Problem

I'm trying to export a step file of an assembly in NX 7.5 but I'm not having any success. When I import it back into a new empty model file, only the datum coordinates appear and not the parts themselves. I have all of the components in separate folders with the assembly part in a folder containing those folders. Any idea how to fix this problem? Issue is with STEP203, 214, and even IGES. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try making sure all your layers are enabled and that you are sure the selected solid is being exported

When you perform an export, a log file is created which will list what was exported along with any warnings or errors. Open it to see what was reported, the file extension is .log. It is a plain text file and any text editor (notepad, wordpad, Word, notepad++, etc) will be able to open it.

I get the following error for all of the files: "Failed to find file using current search options, part left unloaded." I believe this has to do with the fact that the assembly file is not in the same folder as the part files. Any way to fix it without moving the folders around?

In the STEP setup options is a setting for your load_options.def. Set it to point to the same file that you use for interactive NX. Without this set, you will get exactly what you are getting since no files have been loaded and processed.
You can also export the assembly file from within NX.

How do I know which file I'm using for interactive NX? I tried exporting the assembly file from within NX with no luck.

File-Options-Load Options (I think) will show what load options are being applied to your session. They are also in the syslog for your current session.
Customer defaults should have the filename being used to load your load_options file.
