NX 8 vs. NX 7.5 Wave Geo Linker / Extract Region Performance issue.

I'm testing out Nx8, and i have noticed that if you have a linked region already established, edit and rollback to select a missing boundary face, it takes a significant amount of time selecting that one face to the boundary, 20 seconds or more. NX 7.5 highlights a new face immediately.

This does not occur with a small part, a small set of boundary faces. I was testing on a part with 90+ boundary faces.

Now are we talking about pre-selection highlighting or the actual time it takes to select the face and have it highlight?

If you're talking about pre-selection highlighting, make sure that under Preferences -> Selections you've set the 'Rollover Delay' to be the same.

Also, if you really want to compare 'Apples to Apples', in NX 8.0 Preferences -> Selections, in the 'Highlight' section of the dialog, you will need to toggle OFF both the 'Object Tooltip on Rollover' and the 'Highlight Original' options, as these were not available in NX 7.5 and they probably do add a bit more delay in the pre-selection highlighting of an existing feature.

Anyway, using an example with something like 40 Boundary Faces and with the settings mentioned in the paragraph above set so as to make NX 8.0 and NX 7.5 as close to the same as possible, using NX 8.0.1.5, I was not able to detect any real difference in performance of either pre-selection highlighting or the actual selection of the additional Boundary Faces.

I tested it on another part, it's selecting or deselecting, after the region has been made and under editing it. Seemed it took less time, Boundary faces selected counted 200+ with a delay of selection/deselection of about 9 - 15 seconds.
This isn't an issue when creating, only upon edit and adding or subracting of selected boundary faces. It's not highlighting, sorry, i see where i made that mistake above.

I tryed to duplicate you, with only 40 faces. At first, yeah deselecting and selecting faces was slow, then instant! Then slow to deselect, and fast to select. Seems to be an intermittant problem. I do not have this problem at all in 7.5, i can select/deselect until im blue in the face. Was there some sort of selection enhancement in Nx8? I tryed changeing the setting you have stated above, no difference.
