We just upgraded to NX 9.0 and some of our team is still using NX 8.5 so when we receive 9.0 data, we translate down so our designers can still use 8.5.
So what I do is take the 9.0 prt file and export into a step using the STEP AP203(9.0 version) to a new directory. Then I'll use STEP AP203(8.5) and import the newly made steps and create the 8.5 compatible part files in this new directory.
What will happen is for example:
92425500.geo_fan001.001004.stp
will translate into
92425500.geo_fan001.001004.prt
92425500.geo_fan001.001004104.prt
92425500.geo_fan001.001004732.prt
92425500.geo_fan001.001004838.prt
The only thing that I can see that is different from the output files are the one's that end in 104 have the die vectors/parting line geometry, which is what I need. Any idea why this is happening? My settings in the STEP AP203 program have been set up exactly as we used in 8.5.(see screenshot attached)
Also whats the difference between the 203 and the 214 translators?
Thanks in advance!
Joe
