NX Drafting : Drawing Template Title box coming up in modelling, please help!!

Dear All,

I am new to NX. I am using NX 8. I am modelling a trolley. Modelling is complete. My drawing involves numbering each component to its drawing number. To achieve this I created a common attribute in each part which will have the drawing number. Since each part file contains the attribute, I put the drawing within each part itself (Now my drawings are in different part files) With this, now I can populate the BOM with quantity and drawing number in assembly drawing automatically. So far so good!

Now the problem is, in the top level assembly I can see drawing title block in modelling. Please check the attached pic for reference.

I tried to find the solution over the net, but couldn't find any. Please Help!

From top level assembly go from modeling to drafting (if prompted do not select any sheet, just cancel it), you should be able to select the title block (and hide/delete it), if not go to layers and disable the visible only checkbox on layer 256 (default for title blocks)

This always worked for me, I hope it helps you too

But these title blocks are coming up in other low level assemblies also also (My assembly is a multi level assembly). Anyway I'll try this and let you know.

It seems that your assembly is wrong. Anyway try to change the reference set to model for all component.

Hi DidierPSICAD, thanks for your reply! Could you please let me know how my assembly is wrong ? Also I am using NX 8 and I don't know much about reference sets. By changing the reference set to model, did you mean to change the reference set to entire part because I can see only two reference sets "Empty" and "Entire Part".

Search for the reference sets command, where you can create a new one and add only the objects you want to see in an assembly context

Hi All,

I have observed that the title block table including the locked cells of the model are coming in the assembly which has this model as drafting annotation. Now in this assembly modelling, when I hide drafting annotations, this goes away, but when I go back to drafting (for the assembly) the same title box is missing there, all other parts of the template are intact. Could something be wrong with the templates ? I created these templates.

I had put all the curves and tables in the template under layer 256. The table has fields which can be populated. Could there be something that might have went wrong in while creating these templates ?

Create a very simple assembly using the Siemens OOTB templates - that way you can work out if your template is the cause.

Sorry, but I was at customer site last week.
I don't have NX8 anymore and I tried with NX8.5.
I have no issue. Could you send more screenshots ?
