Hi there,

If I start a new drawing template with the ones provided with the package, I notice that I cannot delete the "SIEMENS" logo or the drawing sheets boarder lines and so forth, which is great, but I have created my own company standard template inside of NX & when I choose file new and select my newly created template, I notice that I am able to delete border lines, the lines that make up the title block as well as my company's logo.... How can I set it as the stock standard drawing templates have been set, whereby a user cannot be able to modify the template itself after inserting it to start a new detail drawing?

Many thanks in Advance!

If you create a new drawing with the template you can delete everything that is in the specification without affecting the original template.
But if you open the template itself and delete something there and save it yes than every user can adapt it.
If you work with Teamcenter, log in as an administrator (infodba) and change the ownership of the file to this user, it will become Read Only for all the other users.
Not working with teamcenter, RM on the file (template) and change the security settings to read only for users, and only give yourself the rights to modify the file, this has the same effect.
Greetings.

Best regards,

Michaël.

I think that you if look at the example drawing templates provided with NX that you will find that the objects (lines, text, logos, etc.) which makes up the Drawing Boarder have been placed on Visible yet non-selectable layers. This way they are 'protected' from inadvertent editing.

Thanks for the reply John,

How do I tell NX to put my template onto a visable but non-selectable layer?

Thanks in advance!!

John, Thanks very much!!!

I have found the setting to do exactly as you have said.

This has solved my problem 100%
