Befuddled

Hi all,

I have a large assembly part (NX11 Native), and the parent takes a very long time to load (even with no components) for no apparent reason.

I seem to recall that its possible to turn on additional NX log file logging via some environment variables.

Does anybody recall what the variables are?

Thanks in advance,

B.

The log file is always available to be viewed.

You may want to check your Assembly Load Options, and change those. Use partial loading if you can.
I think it is located in a different place in the menu tree on the version that I am on compared to the one that you are on, so you may want find it using your Command Finder.

HI Jerry,

Thanks for the reply, I'm quite happy and with the use of load options and very large assemblies in general.

With the part investigation I am performing, I am suspecting that there is some kind of reference which NX is trying/struggling to resolve when the part loads (its only 175mb and takes 4 hours and consumes 8GB of ram) but does load.

ug_inspect.exe doesn't flag any obvious corruptions, so I am trying to capture a bit more detail during the actual load.

so far (from my old tatty note books)

set UGII_KEEP_SYSTEM_LOG=on
set UGII_FLEX_NOTE=ON
set UGS_LICENSING_NOTE=ON

.......but I am sure that are some which capture the timing of every action ect.

Cheers B

Are you seeing anything out of the ordinary in your log file?
