Hello Everyone,

I tried installing a node lock license at one of my customer place of NX10 with NX 11 lic file which is of Node lock but where they were already working on a floating license on nx 9 getting the lic from server and when i tried to edit the SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER VARIABLE to the node lock license file location which is at C:\Siemens folder even after doing that NX is not working .. i checked in licensing tool option in nx 10 where the env setting option when i'm changing my previous 28000@Server name where this of floating lic to my node lock lic file location still it is unable to take the lic file and showing -1004 error cant cannot to lic file..basically it is not pointing to the specified file location..

In this case what am I supposed to do?? Any suggestions

what should be in env variable settings
?? how to make this work and i've checked the host id is matching with that particular system

But as soon as i change my variable to previous server location to 28000@Server name it is working fine on NX9 but nx 10 it is not taking the file

NX10 and upwards will look to one of two places to get a license.

In the windows registry or for the value of the SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER variable.

Registry is always looked to first, variable second. So if the registry has been set (using the Licensing Tool does this), the variable will be ignored.

Us the Windows Registry Editor and look to the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens_PLM_Software\Common_Licensing

The value of NX_SERVER should be pointing to your license file, not a license server.
Or if you want to use the variable, then delete the NX_SERVER string and set the SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER variable to point to your license file.

Image below shows where in the registry and an example of what setting for a license file.
