Hello,

We currently working in a multi cad enviroment with both NX7.5 & Catia v5R21.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a translator that can cover over NX attributes to Catia? I've been trying the Step translator without success. I thought when translating metadata the attributes would be translated too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Try JT format. As far as i know JT is supported in CATIA V5 also.Normally STEP will enable appending the PMI information along with it but i am not sure if it can carry the NX attributes also.

Have you looked at the NX to Catia translator ?
I have never used it, but I know it's out there.

Do a File > Save As
and you will see Catia options in the pull-down

Thanks guys for the response. I enquired today with our Siemens reseller here in Australia about the additonional license required to give us the SAVE AS to Catia functionality.

I'm hoping to get a trial to do some testing. Will be intereted to see the results.

Thanks

The Catia translator with NX (and Unigraphics) has been included with it (for free) for as long as I can remember (24 years).

@jerry1423, The actual software may be included with NX but you need to have the NX CATIA V5 Interface (Translator) [NX30604] to run it.
